interesting. to me this sounds like maybe nikon is planning to do away with the d300 line? otherwise why the tougher body for the d90 line? maybe the d700 successor will slot in where the d300 is now, so that the prosumer line will be fx? ..... But I kind of wonder why aluminium now when both nikon and canon have been using magnesium alloy for so long. I mean it's not like aluminium hasn't been around for very long.
